Act-On New Features and Upgrades for December 3, 2015

Released on December 3rd, 2015

Trash folder for contact lists
Access deleted lists to recover or permanently delete them

With this new feature, you will initially move a list and all descendant segments to the Trash folder. The contents of the Trash Folder will be available under Other Lists. In the recycle bin, you can open, delete, or restore the lists and the grouped descendants. When a list is in the Trash, it cannot be selected as a list to mail to, hook up to forms for responses, or participate in automated programs. However, lists already hooked up to forms or programs & in the recycle bin should continue to take responses. When you delete a list from the recycle bin, it should show all the characteristics of being deleted from the normal listings. You can also choose to bypass the Trash folder by selecting Delete Immediately.

Get Form Data API endpoint
Obtain list data for form submissions through API

With the new API endpoint (GET/api/1/form/{formid}/listdata), you can pull records from an Act-On list targeted by a selected form using its formID, as opposed to a submit log. The records will be returned sorted by submission time, most recent first. In cases where the form is not set to “Always Append”, the listdata will only get one record per unique email address (the most recent form submission).

Hide/Show buttons for Desktop/Mobile within block settings
Decide what appears for desktop and mobile when creating content

The top menu for content blocks now has the options to show or hide that block in the desktop and mobile version within the settings during creation, as opposed to having to be in the Desktop preview to show/hide for desktop or in the Mobile preview to show/hide for mobile.

Upload Media moved within file picker of Custom Content Block
Simplified block allows uploaded files to be added to the library as a single step

For consistency and to simplify adding images, the Upload Media File button for the Custom Content block has been moved to appear in the Choose File picker. This button was previously a part of the top menu for the Custom Content block settings.

Custom color picker added to new Landing Page Composer
Select any color for rich text, image and time & place blocks

In a continued effort to bring the features to the new Landing Page Composer, a custom color picker has been added to the blocks that use a rich text editor.

Spellcheck added to Design step for new Landing Page Composer
Review for correct spelling while typing your message

When typing content in the new Landing Page Composer Design step, any misspelled words will automatically be underlined for review.

Block spacing added to column settings for new Landing Page Composer
Add the needed spacing around your content blocks

Similar to the Message Composer, the ability to add padding between blocks within a column has been added to the new Landing Page Composer. Please note that the maximum spacing allowed is 500 px.

Twitter image options for Social Publish
Give your tweets more visual impact with new image options

With this new feature, you will have the ability to select between two different types of Twitter display images, Thumbnail and Large image.

Suppression reason details added to Automated Programs
Know the specific reason for contacts being suppressed in Automated Programs

Previously, several emails that were suppressed going into an automated program would be labeled as bad-email, but didn’t give specific details. Now these suppressed contacts will be labeled by what caused the suppression, including opt-out, hard bounce and spam complaints.

Message Data Correlation added to Data Studio
Create a message data export that correlates values to the proper period

In order to better report marketing activities, this feature correlates message events that happen outside of a selected period. For example, when exporting a Sent-Bounces report you may receive the bounces a week after the period of the send, but with this feature enabled, those bounces will be applied to the period of the send. To enable this feature, select the “Enable message behavior data correlation” checkbox in the message export. Data Studio will scan the data and compute the correct metric. Data Studio is only available for Enterprise accounts.
