Our mapping integration for Sugar, wMaps has been updated with two new features: Drawing on Maps and Saving Maps, which allow users to take advantage of increased customization capabilities.
For the purpose of this topic, we’re going to start by selecting some records from one of our lists (i. e. Accounts). Then, select which records you want to generate a map with, click the Actions button (the down arrow), and select Map.
In the map display, you now have the ability to draw on the map. With this new feature, you can add pushpins, draw lines and shapes. You can also edit, change outline and/or fill color, or erase any existing object on the map.
We’ve recorded a few short videos, to help you get a better understanding of how each of these functions works.
If you’d like to save your newly created customized map, you can do so by clicking the drop-down menu button, and selecting Save As.
You can then name your map, or add the customizations to an already existing map by selecting Add to saved map.
All saved maps are stored in the wMaps module. It can be found by going into your Sugar instance and selecting wMaps on the Display Modules Bar. If it isn’t visible, click on the drop-down menu button, and select wMaps (which will then place the module on the bar).
You will then be able to access all of your previously saved maps.
