Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet with about 25 other marketers in the Austin area. We met for lunch at Cover 3 for the quarterly Pardot user group meeting. W-Systems has been using Pardot Marketing Automation for nearly three years now and are big fans of the CRM integration, email marketing, and lead nurturing features within the application.
A few years ago, the user group was made up of just three people that met thanks to an email introduction from a Pardot employee in Atlanta. Now, Pardot hosts quarterly meetings in major U.S. cities and in London!
W-Systems started using Pardot internally at the same time I started working at the company. I vividly remember my first day. It was filled with paperwork, meetings, a free lunch with the team, and login information for my W-Systems email, our SugarCRM system, and our Pardot system.
I was given a robust marketing automation tool that is meant to save time and better qualify your leads. Because we weren’t actually marketing yet, it was difficult to see the tool as saving time at first. I spent the first few days trying to figure out what work I wanted to give it. I started to build a marketing function using Pardot’s features as my guide. As we started marketing, hosting webinars, and attending conferences, we began to utilize more of the application. Our marketing activities and the number of leads grew while our marketing department remained only one person strong since Pardot acted as another employee.
The product has grown a lot over the last three years and so has W-Systems.
W-Systems’ new marketing intern, Lydia, also attended the event yesterday and benefited from meeting other marketers and hearing how other companies use Pardot. While at the user group, I learned about some of the new features including dynamic email content, more connectors to third-party applications, and the benefits to users from the recent acquisition of Pardot by ExactTarget. With each new feature and product expansion, W-Systems has been able to do more and better report on what’s working and what’s not. Pardot has played a role in our growth over the past few years and it is exciting to see the acceleration of the product, the user group, and W-Systems.
