Many of our Sugar customers use Calls, Tasks, and Meetings to keep track of their past and upcoming interactions with prospects and existing customers. For those users on Outlook there’s a nifty plugin included with Sugar that allows you to view your Sugar events within the Outlook Calendar. Did you know that you can do the same thing with Google Calendar as well? Syncing your Sugar events with Google Calendar is as simple as adding a unique iCal URL to your Google Calendar. To set this up, follow the steps below.
First, navigate to your user profile page by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to your avatar in the top right corner of the screen and selecting Profile.
On your profile page select the Advanced Tab.
Next, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and find the section called Calendar Options. In this section you’ll need to look for your unique iCal URL.
Copy the entire URL and then open up your Google Calendar. Your Google Calendar will list all of your personal (My Calendars) and shared calendars (Other Calendars) on the left side of the screen. To the right of My Calendars there’s a small dropdown arrow. Click this to open a menu and click Add by URL. This is where we’ll need to add the iCal link you copied in the previous step.
Once you click the Add Calendar button, your Sugar calendar will be synced to your Google Calendar including any scheduled Sugar Events. The default calendar name will be a random string of letters and numbers. You can rename your Sugar calendar by clicking on the drop down arrow to the right of calendar’s name and then select the Calendar Settings option. In this case I’ve renamed it to Linus Sugar Calendar.
I’m now able to see all my Sugar events in Google Calendar!
