As a sales rep, you know the importance of taking good notes during meetings and calls with customers. Your CRM is a great place to store those notes, and with a custom notes dashlet, we can bring the notes to the forefront of your accounts for you and your managers.
In this customized instance of Sugar, we created a custom dashlet called “Important Notes”. It’s displayed in the Intelligence Panel alongside the Account Record view. Having the notes easily accessible in a dashlet gives the user an efficient way to identify the important conversations and notes for that Account. As always, the notes are still accessible and searchable from the subpanels below the Account data.
To create a new note, simply click the plus sign next to the notes subpanel. The note will be tied to the account and will be stamped with a date and time. We built a custom field that allows you can mark the note as “important” by checking the box labeled “Note Important?”. Any note marked as important will show up immediately in the Important Notes Dashlet in the related Account Record. The note can also be saved as a “Favorite” if you want to come back to this note often. You will be able to find it quickly via “Favorites” in the Sugar Cube menu.
