How CRM Could Have Saved Ursula’s Demise In ‘The Little Mermaid’

I am going to let you in on a little secret: Ursula, the sea witch villain from The Little Mermaid has clearly been unfairly maligned. Like many people, my most-loved film as a child was The Little Mermaid. While I loved the classic romance and Ariel singing, ‘Part of this World’, I relished Ursula’s screen time even more.

In the case of The Little Mermaid, Ariel falls for a human prince and makes a dangerous deal with Ursula. However, when the plans go awry, Ariel’s father (King Triton) makes the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter. In the end, everyone lives happily ever, except for Ursula who meets her untimely demise.

Another classic fairytale Disney ending. Is that really it? I always felt that if Ursula would have had a CRM, the storyline could have shifted in her favor. 

Wait, You Expect me to Believe the Sea Witch in the Little Mermaid Needed a CRM? Are You Nuts?

Ursula was an entrepreneur, with a thriving business of helping, “Poor Unfortunate Souls”. I like to give her the benefit of the doubt that she probably knew that she needed a CRM, but struggled to learn how it could have helped her and her marketing team (Flotsam and Jetsam) increase revenue (i.e. merfolk that have been transformed to polyps) and solve business problems (think of all those contracts!).

Since Ursula’s entrepreneurial pursuits are not exactly common, and in her own words:

My dear, sweet child, that's what I do
It's what I live for
To help unfortunate merfolk like yourself
Poor souls with no one else to turn to
